One-stop OEM partner for control cabinet: MetlTek runs precision sheet metal, mechanical assembly and complete unit delivery from a single plant in Kunshan, China. Founded in 2001, the factory runs three laser cutting machines (a Trumpf 3030 plus two Hongshan machines, the largest 6000 x 2540 mm), a 6.5 m CNC gantry machining center, a Salvagnini P2Lean bending center, Panasonic and Fronius welding robots and an 8 m rail-mounted welding cell. Finished goods ship to industrial customers across Europe and North America.

Service commitments

What you get when you order

Three commitments we are judged on by every customer, on every order.

Round-the-clock response

Send drawings at any hour — an engineer replies within one working day, not an automated ticket.

Factory-direct pricing

No trading layer in between. You buy from the plant in Kunshan that actually cuts, bends and welds the parts.

Delivery you can plan around

Committed lead times, serialised inspection records and export packing that survives ocean freight.

A control enclosure is judged by what happens when it is open

Control enclosures are worked in, not looked at. A panel builder is inside it during commissioning and a maintenance technician is inside it every time something trips, so the real specification is: does the door hold its alignment, are the cut-outs in the right place, and can the internals be reached and extended without dismantling the shell. We build the shell, the sub-panel system and the cut-outs as one drawing, so the HMI lands where the drawing says and stays there.

Control enclosure engineering ranges

HMI and device cut-outs± 0.2 mm on aperture position, cut and checked before coating
Door and frame1.5 – 2.0 mm door; frame sections from 1.5 mm
Sub-panel systemRetained hole pattern, so a panel built in year one can be extended later
Internal hardwareDIN rail, cable ducting and mounting rails fitted in-house
ProtectionIP54 / IP65; stainless washdown build in 304 or 316
FinishTextured powder coat for grip and scratch resistance

Control enclosure builds

  • Operator consoles and pedestal stations with inclined or vertical faces
  • Multi-door control cabinets with removable gland plates and swing frames
  • Enclosures with cut-outs for HMI panels, push buttons, selectors and emergency stops
  • Cabinets with internal sub-panels, mounting rails and cable ducting
  • Coated steel or stainless builds for washdown and food-contact areas
Why choose us

Built for buyers who audit their supply chain

Four things that decide whether a metal enclosure project lands on time and on budget.

Tolerances we can hold

±0.1 mm on laser-cut features and ±0.3 mm on formed parts, verified before dispatch.

Quality you can audit

ISO 9001 processes, first-article inspection and a measurement report with every series batch.

One supplier, five processes

Cutting, bending, welding, coating and mechanical assembly under one roof — no hand-offs between vendors.

Built for export

Export-grade packing, customs documentation and container loading planned for Europe and North America.

Reference Projects

TRUMPF TruLaser 3030 fibre laser with TruFlow 3200 resonator, MetlTek workshop
TOMRA

Anti-Stray Light Optical Sorter Cabinets for Tomra

Optical sorter cabinets, infeed frames and buffer hoppers for Tomra (Norway). Anti-stray light precision is achieved through bending tolerance, robot seam welding and matte black interior coating. Highlights: precision light sealing, 6.5 m gantry machining in one setup, matte black interior.

ZIEHL-ABEGG

Deep Drawn Centrifugal Fan Housings for Ziehl-Abegg

Deep-drawn fan scrolls, guide rings and impeller shrouds for Ziehl-Abegg (Germany). One-piece forming means fewer seams and smoother inner walls, so pressure loss and noise stay low. Highlights: one-piece deep drawing, robot circumferential sealing weld, accurate balance datum.

Powder coating line for sheet metal enclosures | MetlTek
Camfil

Dry Dust Collector & Fume Extractor Housing for Camfil

Vertical collector housings with conical dust hoppers and support frames for Camfil (Sweden). Fully welded gas-tight construction with machined sealing flanges. Highlights: gas-tight welding, anti-bridging hopper forming, machined flange faces, outdoor-grade coating.

Electric power system cabinets manufactured for TRUMPF | MetlTek
TRUMPF

IP66 Sealed Control Cabinet for Trumpf Laser Machine

Laser machine control cabinet and sealed top housing (sheet metal structure only) for Trumpf (Germany). Sealing is continuous across the top joint so the IP66 rating carries across the whole cabinet. Highlights: IP66 sealing, sealed top transition, oil-resistant industrial coating.

VANDERLANDE

Airport Baggage Conveyor Frames for Vanderlande

Sectioned conveyor frames, support structures, side guarding and drive housings (sheet metal structure only) for Vanderlande (Netherlands). 8 m rail-mounted robot welding keeps long sections straight and interfaces interchangeable. Highlights: long-section robot welding, interchangeable section interfaces, outdoor salt-spray coating.

Where control enclosures actually go wrong

Cut-out position, not just cut-out size

A touch panel that does not sit flush lets water and swarf behind the bezel. Apertures are cut to a positional tolerance and checked with a go/no-go gauge before the shell is coated.

Hinge life under daily use

A door that sags after a year is not wear, it is a design choice. Hinge reinforcement plates are welded into the frame so the load goes into the structure rather than into the shell.

Emergency stop accessibility

An E-stop has to be reachable with the door closed and must not end up behind a swing frame. Its aperture position is fixed against the operating position, not against the panel layout.

Extendability of the internal system

Machines get added to. Sub-panels and rails are cut to a retained hole pattern so the cabinet can be extended in year three without a new enclosure.

Quality and certifications

Quality is measured, not claimed. A precision inspection system compares 40 million measurement points against your CAD in 0.1 seconds per part, and every batch is documented under our ISO 9001 system. Reference customers include TOMRA, TRUMPF, RITTAL, ZIEHL-ABEGG, CAMFIL, VANDERLANDE, MAHLE and WEISS TECHNIK.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order quantity?

There is no fixed MOQ. Prototypes and small batches from one piece are accepted, and unit prices fall as volume grows. One-off tooling cost is quoted separately.

Can you work from our drawings and keep them confidential?

Yes. We regularly work under NDA and produce strictly to customer drawings. Files stay on an internal server and are never shared with third parties.

How long does production take after the sample is approved?

A first-article sample is typically ready in 7–10 working days, and series production runs in 3–5 weeks depending on quantity and surface finish.

Can you match a cut-out to a specific HMI or switch brand?

Yes — send the panel-cutout drawing or the device datasheet and the aperture is cut to the manufacturer's dimensions, including corner radii and keying features.

Console by welding or by folding — which do you recommend?

Both are built, and the choice follows the cosmetic standard and the quantity. Folded-and-riveted is faster and cheaper; a welded face gives the seamless look a machined-looking console needs.

Do you supply a stainless washdown version?

Yes, in 304 or 316 with weld seams ground flush, sloped top faces and gasketed doors, which is the pattern used where the enclosure is hosed down.
