One-stop OEM partner for electrical enclosure: MetlTek runs precision sheet metal, mechanical assembly and complete unit delivery from a single plant in Kunshan, China. Founded in 2001, the factory runs three laser cutting machines (a Trumpf 3030 plus two Hongshan machines, the largest 6000 x 2540 mm), a 6.5 m CNC gantry machining center, a Salvagnini P2Lean bending center, Panasonic and Fronius welding robots and an 8 m rail-mounted welding cell. Finished goods ship to industrial customers across Europe and North America.

Service commitments

What you get when you order

Three commitments we are judged on by every customer, on every order.

Round-the-clock response

Send drawings at any hour — an engineer replies within one working day, not an automated ticket.

Factory-direct pricing

No trading layer in between. You buy from the plant in Kunshan that actually cuts, bends and welds the parts.

Delivery you can plan around

Committed lead times, serialised inspection records and export packing that survives ocean freight.

What an electrical enclosure actually has to do

An electrical enclosure is not a box with a door. It is the part that sets the protection rating, carries the earth path, decides how the electronics are cooled, and — if it ships assembled — is the surface your customer's operator touches every shift. Those four jobs are decided in the sheet metal: the seam detail, the gasket rebate, the louvre area and the earth stud. We cut, form and weld the shell, coat it, and where the order calls for it, build the panel inside before it leaves.

Enclosure engineering ranges

Shell materialCold-rolled DC01, galvanised steel, stainless 304 / 316, aluminium
Sheet and frame0.8 – 6.0 mm shell; frame sections from 1.5 mm
Cutting and forming± 0.05 mm laser-cut; ± 0.25° on the Salvagnini panel bender
Largest shell in one pieceCut to 6,500 × 4,700 mm on the gantry laser, T25 mm mild steel
ProtectionIP54 as the standard build; IP66 on gasketed, seam-welded shells
Earth continuityWelded earth stud, pull-tested and recorded per batch

Enclosure builds we run

  • Floor-standing cabinets with gland plates, mounting plates and removable doors
  • Wall-mount and free-standing control enclosures, single- and double-door
  • Bayed suites where adjacent cabinets share a sealing and earthing arrangement
  • Shells with louvres, fan cut-outs and filtered inlet panels for forced ventilation
  • Shells fitted with DIN rail and mounting hardware, mechanically assembled and dimensionally checked before dispatch

Venting, and the accessories that have to be designed in

Two questions come up on almost every enclosure order, and both are sheet metal questions rather than catalogue questions: how the heat leaves, and which accessories have to be built into the shell instead of bolted on later. Venting is cut and formed into the shell — louvres, fan apertures or a filtered inlet panel — and the accessory set is fixed at the same time, because where a mounting plate or a gland plate lands changes the layout everything else has to fit around.

Accessories cut and formed into the shell

LouvresPunched and formed into the shell or door for passive convection. The open area is sized to the heat load, not copied from a template.
Fan and filter aperturesCut-outs sized to the fan frame, with a filtered inlet panel on the opposite face so air actually crosses the electronics instead of short-circuiting across the top.
Gland platesRemovable plates in the base or floor, cut to your cable range, so the enclosure is still sealed after wiring.
Mounting platesZinc-plated or painted plates positioned to the component layout, not to a default center line.
Rain hoods and plinthsFormed accessories that keep water off the door seam and lift the shell clear of a wet floor.
Hinges, locks and handlesChosen against door weight and protection rating together: a heavy double door needs a different hinge to a 400 mm single door.
Earth studs and bondingWelded studs, pull-tested and recorded per batch, so the earth path is documented rather than assumed.
Why choose us

Built for buyers who audit their supply chain

Four things that decide whether a metal enclosure project lands on time and on budget.

Tolerances we can hold

±0.1 mm on laser-cut features and ±0.3 mm on formed parts, verified before dispatch.

Quality you can audit

ISO 9001 processes, first-article inspection and a measurement report with every series batch.

One supplier, five processes

Cutting, bending, welding, coating and mechanical assembly under one roof — no hand-offs between vendors.

Built for export

Export-grade packing, customs documentation and container loading planned for Europe and North America.

Where electrical enclosures actually go wrong

Earth continuity through paint

Powder coating is an insulator. Earth studs are welded to bare metal and masked before the shell is coated, then pull-tested — rather than relying on a screw thread biting through a paint film.

Door and gasket compression

A gasket only seals inside its compression range, and door flatness decides whether it gets there. Doors are checked against the frame they will close onto, not against the drawing alone.

Thermal path and airflow

Louvre area and fan cut-outs are sized for the airflow the electronics need, not for how they look. An undersized or blocked inlet is the most common reason a cabinet runs hot.

Gland plate interchangeability

Gland plates are cut to a retained pattern, so a replacement plate from a later batch still fits a cabinet that was installed three years ago.

Quality and certifications

Quality is measured, not claimed. A precision inspection system compares 40 million measurement points against your CAD in 0.1 seconds per part, and every batch is documented under our ISO 9001 system. Reference customers include TOMRA, TRUMPF, RITTAL, ZIEHL-ABEGG, CAMFIL, VANDERLANDE, MAHLE and WEISS TECHNIK.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order quantity?

There is no fixed MOQ. Prototypes and small batches from one piece are accepted, and unit prices fall as volume grows. One-off tooling cost is quoted separately.

Can you work from our drawings and keep them confidential?

Yes. We regularly work under NDA and produce strictly to customer drawings. Files stay on an internal server and are never shared with third parties.

How long does production take after the sample is approved?

A first-article sample is typically ready in 7–10 working days, and series production runs in 3–5 weeks depending on quantity and surface finish.

Can you supply the enclosure fully assembled with electrical components?

We supply the sheet metal, mounting plate, DIN rail, hinges, locks and gland hardware mechanically assembled and dimensionally checked. Electrical components, busbar work, wiring and functional testing stay with your own electrical supplier — that boundary is deliberate, so you keep one accountable party for the electrical scope.

How is the protection rating proven?

IP54 is the standard build. IP66 is achieved with gasketed, seam-welded construction and is verified by leak testing rather than by visual inspection.

Do you cut gland plate openings to my cable schedule?

Yes — send the cable schedule or a gland-plate drawing and the openings are cut and labelled during fabrication, so no drilling happens on site.
