One-stop OEM partner for instrument enclosure: MetlTek runs precision sheet metal, mechanical assembly and complete unit delivery from a single plant in Kunshan, China. Founded in 2001, the factory runs three laser cutting machines (a Trumpf 3030 plus two Hongshan machines, the largest 6000 x 2540 mm), a 6.5 m CNC gantry machining center, a Salvagnini P2Lean bending center, Panasonic and Fronius welding robots and an 8 m rail-mounted welding cell. Finished goods ship to industrial customers across Europe and North America.

Service commitments

What you get when you order

Three commitments we are judged on by every customer, on every order.

Round-the-clock response

Send drawings at any hour — an engineer replies within one working day, not an automated ticket.

Factory-direct pricing

No trading layer in between. You buy from the plant in Kunshan that actually cuts, bends and welds the parts.

Delivery you can plan around

Committed lead times, serialised inspection records and export packing that survives ocean freight.

For an instrument enclosure, the best outcome is that it disappears

An instrument enclosure holds the sensor, the optics or the analyser, so anything the enclosure does to the measurement is a defect: thermal drift on the mounting face, a vibration path from a fan, a burr that ends up inside a closed housing. The brief is therefore flatness and cleanliness as much as shape. We flatten and, where required, surface-grind mounting faces, cut aperture-critical panels in one set-up, and clean every part before the enclosure is closed.

Instrument enclosure engineering ranges

Mounting face flatness0.1 mm per 300 mm, or to the figure agreed on the drawing
Aperture tolerance± 0.1 mm on aperture-critical panels, cut in one set-up
MaterialsAluminium, stainless 304 / 316, cold-rolled steel
Face finishingSurface grinding for flat and parallel faces; vertical milling for pockets
Cosmetic finishMatt powder coat, brushed or anodised aluminium
CleanlinessAll parts deburred, washed and inspected before the enclosure is closed

Instrument and analyser builds

  • Bench-top and rack-mount analyser housings with filtered ventilation
  • Housings for optical and laser measurement heads with beam apertures
  • Cabinets for environmental test chambers with thermal and humidity sealing
  • Portable instrument cases with carry handles and connector panels
  • 19-inch sub-rack housings with front-panel cut-outs
Why choose us

Built for buyers who audit their supply chain

Four things that decide whether a metal enclosure project lands on time and on budget.

Tolerances we can hold

±0.1 mm on laser-cut features and ±0.3 mm on formed parts, verified before dispatch.

Quality you can audit

ISO 9001 processes, first-article inspection and a measurement report with every series batch.

One supplier, five processes

Cutting, bending, welding, coating and mechanical assembly under one roof — no hand-offs between vendors.

Built for export

Export-grade packing, customs documentation and container loading planned for Europe and North America.

ZIEHL-ABEGG

Deep Drawn Centrifugal Fan Housings for Ziehl-Abegg

Deep-drawn fan scrolls, guide rings and impeller shrouds for Ziehl-Abegg (Germany). One-piece forming means fewer seams and smoother inner walls, so pressure loss and noise stay low. Highlights: one-piece deep drawing, robot circumferential sealing weld, accurate balance datum.

Powder coating line for sheet metal enclosures | MetlTek
Camfil

Dry Dust Collector & Fume Extractor Housing for Camfil

Vertical collector housings with conical dust hoppers and support frames for Camfil (Sweden). Fully welded gas-tight construction with machined sealing flanges. Highlights: gas-tight welding, anti-bridging hopper forming, machined flange faces, outdoor-grade coating.

Highlights: long-section robot welding, interchangeable section interfaces, outdoor salt-spray coating.

Where instrument enclosures actually go wrong

Thermal stability of the datum face

An optical bench mounted on a panel that moves 0.2 mm between cold start and running temperature never holds alignment. Where the figure matters, the face is flattened and corrected after welding, then measured.

Contamination inside a closed housing

A burr or a chip sealed inside an instrument becomes a lifetime fault that no incoming inspection will catch. Assemblies are cleaned before closing, not after.

Vibration and resonance

Thin unsupported panels drum under a fan and put that energy straight into the measurement. Stiffening ribs and folded edges are added where the instrument spec calls for them.

Aperture coaxiality

A beam or connector aperture that is correct on its own can still be wrong once the housing is assembled. Apertures that must line up are cut from one set-up against a common datum.

Quality and certifications

Quality is measured, not claimed. A precision inspection system compares 40 million measurement points against your CAD in 0.1 seconds per part, and every batch is documented under our ISO 9001 system. Reference customers include TOMRA, TRUMPF, RITTAL, ZIEHL-ABEGG, CAMFIL, VANDERLANDE, MAHLE and WEISS TECHNIK.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order quantity?

There is no fixed MOQ. Prototypes and small batches from one piece are accepted, and unit prices fall as volume grows. One-off tooling cost is quoted separately.

Can you work from our drawings and keep them confidential?

Yes. We regularly work under NDA and produce strictly to customer drawings. Files stay on an internal server and are never shared with third parties.

How long does production take after the sample is approved?

A first-article sample is typically ready in 7–10 working days, and series production runs in 3–5 weeks depending on quantity and surface finish.

Can you hold a flatness specification on a welded housing?

Yes — on a machined or surface-ground face, or by correcting after welding. We agree the flatness figure and the datum on the drawing before the material is cut.

Do you build in aluminium as well as steel?

Yes. Aluminium is cut, formed and finished separately from steel to avoid cross-contamination, and is anodised or given a conductive pre-treatment before coating.

How do you keep swarf out of a finished instrument?

Parts are deburred, washed and inspected before assembly, and every internal operation is completed before the housing is closed.
