One-stop OEM partner for precision ground parts: MetlTek runs precision sheet metal, mechanical assembly and complete unit delivery from a single plant in Kunshan, China. Founded in 2001, the factory runs three laser cutting machines (a Trumpf 3030 plus two Hongshan machines, the largest 6000 x 2540 mm), a 6.5 m CNC gantry machining center, a Salvagnini P2Lean bending center, Panasonic and Fronius welding robots and an 8 m rail-mounted welding cell. Finished goods ship to industrial customers across Europe and North America.

Service commitments

What you get when you order

Three commitments we are judged on by every customer, on every order.

Round-the-clock response

Send drawings at any hour — an engineer replies within one working day, not an automated ticket.

Factory-direct pricing

No trading layer in between. You buy from the plant in Kunshan that actually cuts, bends and welds the parts.

Delivery you can plan around

Committed lead times, serialised inspection records and export packing that survives ocean freight.

Grinding is what you do when a face has to be flat after everything else has happened

Surface grinding is usually a correction, not a primary operation: it is how a face that has already been cut, formed and welded becomes flat and parallel within a figure a mating part can rely on. That is why it belongs at the end of the route. We grind seats, faces and pads where the drawing states a flatness or parallelism requirement, and we check the result rather than inferring it from the setting.

Ground work we take on

  • Seats, pads and mounting faces ground flat and parallel
  • Welded fabrications ground after welding to recover flatness
  • End faces and shoulders on round and profiled components
  • Blending and surface conditioning on stainless and coated parts
  • Ground parts supplied with a dimensional record
Why choose us

Built for buyers who audit their supply chain

Four things that decide whether a metal enclosure project lands on time and on budget.

Tolerances we can hold

±0.1 mm on laser-cut features and ±0.3 mm on formed parts, verified before dispatch.

Quality you can audit

ISO 9001 processes, first-article inspection and a measurement report with every series batch.

One supplier, five processes

Cutting, bending, welding, coating and mechanical assembly under one roof — no hand-offs between vendors.

Built for export

Export-grade packing, customs documentation and container loading planned for Europe and North America.

ZIEHL-ABEGG

Deep Drawn Centrifugal Fan Housings for Ziehl-Abegg

Deep-drawn fan scrolls, guide rings and impeller shrouds for Ziehl-Abegg (Germany). One-piece forming means fewer seams and smoother inner walls, so pressure loss and noise stay low. Highlights: one-piece deep drawing, robot circumferential sealing weld, accurate balance datum.

Powder coating line for sheet metal enclosures | MetlTek
Camfil

Dry Dust Collector & Fume Extractor Housing for Camfil

Vertical collector housings with conical dust hoppers and support frames for Camfil (Sweden). Fully welded gas-tight construction with machined sealing flanges. Highlights: gas-tight welding, anti-bridging hopper forming, machined flange faces, outdoor-grade coating.

VANDERLANDE

Airport Baggage Conveyor Frames for Vanderlande

Sectioned conveyor frames, support structures, side guarding and drive housings (sheet metal structure only) for Vanderlande (Netherlands). 8 m rail-mounted robot welding keeps long sections straight and interfaces interchangeable. Highlights: long-section robot welding, interchangeable section interfaces, outdoor salt-spray coating.

Where grinding actually goes wrong

Grinding in the wrong sequence

A face ground before welding is a face that will move afterwards. Grinding belongs after the last heat input, which is why the route is planned around it rather than added at the end.

Heat from the grinding pass itself

Grinding generates local heat, and on a thin part that heat is enough to bow the face being finished. Pass depth and cooling are set around the part's thickness.

A flatness figure with no reference face

Flatness is measured against something. The datum face is identified on the drawing so the result can be verified instead of trusted.

Condition of the ground surface

A ground face is a protected face. Ground parts are masked and packed so the surface that was just finished is still the surface that arrives.

Quality and certifications

Quality is measured, not claimed. A precision inspection system compares 40 million measurement points against your CAD in 0.1 seconds per part, and every batch is documented under our ISO 9001 system. Reference customers include TOMRA, TRUMPF, RITTAL, ZIEHL-ABEGG, CAMFIL, VANDERLANDE, MAHLE and WEISS TECHNIK.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order quantity?

There is no fixed MOQ. Prototypes and small batches from one piece are accepted, and unit prices fall as volume grows. One-off tooling cost is quoted separately.

Can you work from our drawings and keep them confidential?

Yes. We regularly work under NDA and produce strictly to customer drawings. Files stay on an internal server and are never shared with third parties.

How long does production take after the sample is approved?

A first-article sample is typically ready in 7–10 working days, and series production runs in 3–5 weeks depending on quantity and surface finish.

When should a part be ground rather than milled?

When the face has to be flat or parallel to a specific figure, or when the flatness has to be recovered after welding. Grinding is the correction that milling alone cannot guarantee.

Can you grind a welded fabrication back to flat?

Yes, and it is the normal answer where a bolted-on part needs a true seat. The face is ground after the weld has cooled, so the flatness survives.

Do ground parts come with a record?

Yes. Ground faces are dimensionally recorded, and sheet metal parts also go through full-surface optical vision measurement with an automatic deviation report.
