One-stop OEM partner for ev charging cabinet: MetlTek runs precision sheet metal, mechanical assembly and complete unit delivery from a single plant in Kunshan, China. Founded in 2001, the factory runs three laser cutting machines (a Trumpf 3030 plus two Hongshan machines, the largest 6000 x 2540 mm), a 6.5 m CNC gantry machining center, a Salvagnini P2Lean bending center, Panasonic and Fronius welding robots and an 8 m rail-mounted welding cell. Finished goods ship to industrial customers across Europe and North America.

Service commitments

What you get when you order

Three commitments we are judged on by every customer, on every order.

Round-the-clock response

Send drawings at any hour — an engineer replies within one working day, not an automated ticket.

Factory-direct pricing

No trading layer in between. You buy from the plant in Kunshan that actually cuts, bends and welds the parts.

Delivery you can plan around

Committed lead times, serialised inspection records and export packing that survives ocean freight.

A charging cabinet is an outdoor electrical product with a brand on the front

Charging cabinets are unforgiving because they combine the three hardest requirements in one box: they live outdoors, they carry power electronics that generate heat, and they stand in public where the finish is the product's face. So the specification is a sealed, corrosion-protected shell with a real thermal path, and a cosmetic standard that survives being touched, washed and rained on for years rather than weeks.

Charging cabinet builds

  • AC and DC charging cabinet shells with door and access arrangements
  • Pole-mount and pedestal charging housings
  • Cabinets with filtered ventilation, rain shields and drip edges
  • Enclosures for power modules with separated thermal compartments
  • Public-facing builds finished to a specified cosmetic standard
Why choose us

Built for buyers who audit their supply chain

Four things that decide whether a metal enclosure project lands on time and on budget.

Tolerances we can hold

±0.1 mm on laser-cut features and ±0.3 mm on formed parts, verified before dispatch.

Quality you can audit

ISO 9001 processes, first-article inspection and a measurement report with every series batch.

One supplier, five processes

Cutting, bending, welding, coating and mechanical assembly under one roof — no hand-offs between vendors.

Built for export

Export-grade packing, customs documentation and container loading planned for Europe and North America.

Reference Projects

TRUMPF TruLaser 3030 fibre laser with TruFlow 3200 resonator, MetlTek workshop
TOMRA

Anti-Stray Light Optical Sorter Cabinets for Tomra

Optical sorter cabinets, infeed frames and buffer hoppers for Tomra (Norway). Anti-stray light precision is achieved through bending tolerance, robot seam welding and matte black interior coating. Highlights: precision light sealing, 6.5 m gantry machining in one setup, matte black interior.

Precision sheet metal enclosure with cut-outs and fixing points | MetlTek
ZIEHL-ABEGG

Deep Drawn Centrifugal Fan Housings for Ziehl-Abegg

Deep-drawn fan scrolls, guide rings and impeller shrouds for Ziehl-Abegg (Germany). One-piece forming means fewer seams and smoother inner walls, so pressure loss and noise stay low. Highlights: one-piece deep drawing, robot circumferential sealing weld, accurate balance datum.

Powder coating line for sheet metal enclosures | MetlTek
Camfil

Dry Dust Collector & Fume Extractor Housing for Camfil

Vertical collector housings with conical dust hoppers and support frames for Camfil (Sweden). Fully welded gas-tight construction with machined sealing flanges. Highlights: gas-tight welding, anti-bridging hopper forming, machined flange faces, outdoor-grade coating.

Electric power system cabinets manufactured for TRUMPF | MetlTek
TRUMPF

IP66 Sealed Control Cabinet for Trumpf Laser Machine

Laser machine control cabinet and sealed top housing (sheet metal structure only) for Trumpf (Germany). Sealing is continuous across the top joint so the IP66 rating carries across the whole cabinet. Highlights: IP66 sealing, sealed top transition, oil-resistant industrial coating.

Vacuum sheet loading station feeding the punching line | MetlTek
AP TECH

Semiconductor Test Equipment Frame with Precision Gap Control | AP TECH

Split upper and lower equipment frames with a machined mounting plate between them for AP TECH (Korea). The 6.5 m gantry mills the mounting face in one setup and assembly gaps are held uniformly. Highlights: gantry-machined mounting face, granite plate fitting, assembly gap control, rigid vibration-damped frame.

Welding fixtures and clamping tooling wall, MetlTek workshop
VANDERLANDE

Airport Baggage Conveyor Frames for Vanderlande

Sectioned conveyor frames, support structures, side guarding and drive housings (sheet metal structure only) for Vanderlande (Netherlands). 8 m rail-mounted robot welding keeps long sections straight and interfaces interchangeable. Highlights: long-section robot welding, interchangeable section interfaces, outdoor salt-spray coating.

Where charging cabinets actually go wrong

A thermal path that was never actually designed

Power electronics generate heat continuously, so airflow is a functional requirement rather than a ventilation detail. Louvre area and filter sizing follow the thermal load, with rain shielding that does not defeat the airflow it protects.

Outdoor sealing under real weather

A cabinet that passes a leak test can still take on water through a fixing that penetrates a horizontal surface. Doors overlap the frame, joints sit above the water line, and no fastener enters from the top.

Cosmetic performance in public

A charger is touched, brushed against and washed. Coating thickness, edge coverage and the flatness of visible panels are specified together, because a public-facing surface fails cosmetically long before it fails structurally.

Corrosion at the fixings and earth points

An outdoor cabinet has dissimilar metals within a few millimetres of each other. Fixings, washers and earth studs are specified as a set to avoid creating a corrosion cell.

Quality and certifications

Quality is measured, not claimed. A precision inspection system compares 40 million measurement points against your CAD in 0.1 seconds per part, and every batch is documented under our ISO 9001 system. Reference customers include TOMRA, TRUMPF, RITTAL, ZIEHL-ABEGG, CAMFIL, VANDERLANDE, MAHLE and WEISS TECHNIK.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order quantity?

There is no fixed MOQ. Prototypes and small batches from one piece are accepted, and unit prices fall as volume grows. One-off tooling cost is quoted separately.

Can you work from our drawings and keep them confidential?

Yes. We regularly work under NDA and produce strictly to customer drawings. Files stay on an internal server and are never shared with third parties.

How long does production take after the sample is approved?

A first-article sample is typically ready in 7–10 working days, and series production runs in 3–5 weeks depending on quantity and surface finish.

Can you build a charging cabinet to IP66?

Yes — IP66 is reached with gasketed, seam-welded construction and is verified by leak testing. Rain shielding and airflow are specified together so the sealing does not block the cooling.

How do you keep the visible finish good for years outdoors?

Outdoor-grade UV-stable powder coat over treated cut edges, with A-surface panels masked and flatness-checked before coating. The finish requirement is agreed against the exposure and the handling the product will see.

Can the cabinet be supplied with the power module compartment assembled?

Yes — the compartment is mechanically fitted, sealed and dimensionally verified, so it arrives ready for your own power module. Electrical connection and functional testing remain with your electrical supplier.
